A 118 m cross-Channel car ferry, launched in Schiedam in 1966 as Free Enterprise III. After eighteen years on the Dover routes and twelve more between Jeddah and Suez, engine trouble left her adrift in June 2004 and she fetched up on the reef at Shoaiba. She sits beached on the reef, bow up and listing to port, with the stern in the water: half ship, half wreck.عبّارة سيارات بطول 118 م كانت تعبر القنال الإنجليزي، أُنزلت إلى الماء في سخيدام عام 1966 باسم فري إنتربرايز 3. بعد ثمانية عشر عامًا على خطوط دوفر واثني عشر عامًا أخرى بين جدة والسويس، تركها عطل في المحركات تنجرف في يونيو 2004 حتى استقرت على شعاب الشعيبة. تجلس جانحة على الشعاب، مقدمتها مرفوعة ومائلة إلى اليسار، ومؤخرتها في الماء: نصفها سفينة ونصفها حطام.

The guided dive lasts about 5 minutes: in off the boat astern of her, down the listing port quarter to the twin propellers, out to the wall and down to the sand, back in through the open stern to the car deck, along the submerged port hull to where the bow rides up onto the reef, and a safety stop in the shallows with the ship towering overhead.
